New York Auto Insurance Fraud Ring Shut Down

A federal investigation has resulted in the dismantling of an auto insurance fraud ring that was working in New York. This group managed to scam insurance companies out of $279 million dollars, by filing bogus claims. They were able to do this by taking advantage of New York’s no-fault auto insurance. Hillsborough County, in Florida, has passed regulations that crack down on auto insurance fraud, and the fraudulent medical clinics that enable it. The county is tired of waiting for the State of Florida to fix the problems with the no-fault auto insurance that leads to insurance fraud.
